Andrea Aliverti is Professor of Bioengineering at the Department Electronics, Information and Bioengineering (DEIB), Politecnico di Milano University, where he teaches Technologies for Sensors and Clinical Instrumentation and Bioengineering of the Respiratory System. Since 2014, he is the Chairman of the PhD Programme in Bioengineering at the Politecnico di Milano. He is responsible of Lares (Respiratory Analysis Lab) at the Biomedical Technology Laboratory (TBM-Lab). His actual main research interests include respiratory system bioengineering, physiological measurements and modelling, respiratory mechanics, biomedical instrumentation and sensors, wearable technology and functional respiratory imaging by CT, MR and ultrasounds. He has been awarded the ERS (European Respiratory Society) COPD Award and the Vertex Innovation Award (VIA). Former Secretary (2014-2017) and Head of ERS Assembly 4 “Sleep and Breathing disorders and clinical physiology” (2017-2020). He is author or co-author of more than 230 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals, editor of 4 books and inventor in 15 patents.
