The day will explore the concept of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and discuss why they must be designed, implemented and managed by/in partnership with local communities. The sessions will cover the benefits and potential risks of implementing NbS in land and marine-based environments and will examine some key case studies on sustainable agriculture, reforestation, peatlands, REDD+ and the future of cities.

La giornata esplorerà il concetto di Nature-based Solutions (NbS) e discuterà perché devono essere progettate, implementate e gestite da/con le comunità locali. Le sessioni si occuperanno di benefici e potenziali rischi dell'implementazione delle NbS in ambienti terrestri e marini ed esamineranno alcuni casi studio chiave sull'agricoltura sostenibile, la riforestazione, le torbiere, REDD+ e il futuro delle città.
