Skills for the Workforce of the Future
10:45 AM - 11:45 AM

By 2025 the World Economic Forum predicts that nearly 50% of employees will need to reskill. As the pace of technological change continues to accelerate, skills in areas such as data science and genomics are in increasingly short supply and competition for graduates is intensifying. As well as functional specialisms, employers are increasingly looking for other kinds of skills, such as critical thinking, problem-solving and self-management.

The questions for both education providers and employers, then, are what does the candidate of the future look like and how can we best equip them for a twenty-first century career? This session is intended to serve as an opportunity for University of Cambridge and industry partners to come together, debate common challenges and agree collaborative approaches to reshaping the workforce of the future.
