AI and the Data-Driven Recovery

Over the past 18 months the use of statistics and data science to understand and manage the pandemic has been thrust into the public sphere. AI underlies innovations in medicine, transport, the energy transition and many facets of everyday life from personal finance to entertainment. At the same time the risks, limits and unintended consequences of these technologies must be understood and communicated. 

This session will examine the ways in which technology has helped us through the pandemic, from remote working to the logistics behind online shopping.
