Deputy Director of the British Museum

Jonathan Williams is Deputy Director of the British Museum with responsibility for the Museum’s collection of 8 million objects covering 2 million years of human history and for the public’s engagement with the collection through exhibitions, learning and communications. Previously he was a specialist in Roman history and coinage at the BM, then worked on international relations before becoming head of the European department. 

He is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and the Learned Society of Wales.
